Who is behind Larkwick: an independent UK games desk with no paid placements.
01What we do
Larkwick hands out one list of honours a year: the games we think players in the UK should spend their evenings on, with the reasoning behind every place and a direct route to each game’s official home.
02Who we are
A small desk of people who have spent years reviewing games, running local game nights, testing accessibility options and, mostly, playing far too much. Every game on the list is played by at least one of us before anything is written about it.
03How we stay independent
We sell nothing, host no downloads, run no accounts and take no payments. There is no advertising, no affiliate offer and no sponsored content, and no studio, publisher or platform can pay for a place.
04Conflicts of interest
If one of us has a personal or professional link to a game, that person sits out its scoring and we note it on the file. We accept no gifts in exchange for coverage.
05The artwork
The cover illustrations on this site are original pieces made for us in the spirit of each game’s world and art style. They are not official art, screenshots or marketing material.
06Made for UK readers
Plain language, no pop-ups, no autoplay and no tracking. The list is meant to be read in a few minutes and used all year.
